Ancient Cemetery

With the excavations of 1983 a cemetery of the 8th century BC - 3rd century AD came to light. It was one of the most important cemeteries of the Cyclades and it contains various graves, from different eras. The most important finding is a “polyandreion” (mass grave), which dates back to the end of the Geometric period (8th century BC.). Nowadays the site functions as an archaeological park.

In the showroom next to the cemetery, you can admire the interesting discoveries as well as photographs from older and more recent excavations.
